My Zombie Summer

Welcome to the much delayed second issue of Walk Among Us! In issue two, we have eight posts from amazing artists and writers that have found their way toward The Famous Living Dead Brigade.

First to some exciting business, though! For this issue, we're having a flier contest! That's right, we want YOU to design fliers for The Famous Living Dead Brigade! Out of all the entries, we will pick TWO fliers to be the official summer fliers for the FLDB!

So, here's what you do to enter:
- Make sure the flier is YOUR ORIGINAL WORK
- E-mail your submission to us at the zine
- Include your name and the image
- Use any medium you want
- Fliers can be as small as 3x4 or as large as 6x8. Please no whole pages!
- If you have any questions, email us or post a thread on the message boards.
- Have fun!

What should be included on the flier (This is important. If your flier doesn't meet these points, you will not be considered):
- The flier should match the theme of the zine, call it Southern Gothic if you like
- Include the URL for either the Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/famouslivingdeadbrigade), the message boards (http://famousldb.proboards81.com), or the zine (http://http://famousldb.blogspot.com), or include all three
- Do your best to explain what we have or what we do at the FLDB
- Please include somewhere the words "The Famous Living Dead Brigade" besides a URL (I'm afraid if I don't say that, someone will forget.)
- Other than that, do whatever you like!

Once again, please follow these guidelines closely!

All submissions are due by July 15th. We will vote on them, and within a few days of the deadline, we'll let you all know who won! This is a very special contest to everyone here, so put some heart into it, and you can have your name plastered virtually anywhere!

Now back to the entries:
With word of the Brigade spreading rapidly, we got tons of submissions this time. It's been hard to narrow them down, but we think we did it! So, first up are two great submissions we received and voted as our featured pieces:

The first is a photograph by Alexander Moore titled, "Winter".
Clicking the image will take you to the full piece.

The second is a free verse by Rose, the very creator of this Brigade, titled, "Everything Ends". Here is an excerpt, which you can click on to take you to the entire work: Life.Is.Ours.To.Control. after we spend out lifetime living in fear of living we wake up to find
out we are dying. and then we realize that we’ve never really lived. at the death of everyday, are you
satisfied with how you’ve lived?

With issue two officially unveiled, issue three is now under construction. As always, it's nothing without YOU! All submissions are welcome and encouraged. Just click the "Submitting to the E-Zine" link to the right, and follow the instructions. Please include all of the information we ask for! That's all there is to it! PLEASE, make sure your work is original. If you do use someone else's image or words in your submission, do your best to give them credit. Again, we can't do this without you!!
So, until next time,
-Brenna & Melissa

The Undead that Stole Christmas

Welcome, folks, to issue one of Walk Among Us, the official blog of the Famous Living Dead Brigade! In this issue you will find seven posts from members of the FLDB, as well as info on the Famous Living Dead Brigade Holiday Extravaganza! And in honor of this being the first issue, it is all FLDB! But please don't let that discourage you, non-Brigadiers! All submissions are welcome for issue two! But right now, let me introduce the issue with two very special submissions we received these past few weeks:

The first is a photograph by Nina Pfauth titled, "Dead Souls".

Our second featured piece is a poem by Christoph Alexander, called "I Don't Really Know What It Is... 'But It's Us'" which, due to it's length, can be found here!

For more info on these pieces, as well as information about their artists, you can view the links to their full pages below. And as always, issue two is in the works, but it's nothing without you, and as I mentioned before, ALL submissions are welcome. If you're interested, please submit here! We're looking for between ten and fifteen entries for the next issue. So if you didn't see your submission in this issue, rest assured it will appear in issue two. Lastly, don't forget to check the FLDB MySpace and please come chat with us on the FLDB Message Boards! All are welcome, and you could even get yourself some official Famous Living Dead Brigade stickers, free!

That's all for now; listed below are the links to all seven FLDB-created submissions as well as a small piece on how you, too, can participate in the Famous Living Dead Brigade Holiday Extravaganza!
